Shashi Hotel

Located at the heart of Silicon Valley, the Shashi Hotel was envisioned as an urban resort—a luxury experience catered toward innovative, well-traveled and forward thinking clientele that regularly visit the surrounding campuses of the booming tech industry.

Recognizing that life and work are often intertwined in the lives of the hotel’s intended guests, Shashi called for a highly refined brand centered around exceeding expectations.

This desire for developing an elevated experience is reflected in every aspect of the brand, from the custom condensed sans serif logotype and understated palette, papers with just the right texture, to dimensional routed signage and wayfinding, even a custom scent crafted by our designers.

Shashi Hotel

Recognizing that life and work are often intertwined in the lives of the hotel’s intended guests, designers worked with the Shashi Group’s owners and stakeholders on a highly refined brand, centered around exceeding expectations and offering a seamless experience. The word ‘And’ became the establishment’s tagline, and a reflection of their approach toward hospitality—an unforced level of attentiveness and a commitment to anticipating what’s next while always asking “what more can we do?” Any and every request, answered with “yes, and…what else may we help with?”

This desire for developing an elevated experience is reflected in every aspect of the brand. The primary logotype is a custom, condensed sans serif visually presented with stark black and white tones that transmit elegance, luxury and a refined sensibility. The bold nature of the logo manifests itself in various different ways throughout the hotel—starkly defined in monumental signage on the hotel’s exterior against wood or glass, or quietly integrated into its interior wayfinding, where voided letters are subtly defined through shadow against black, hot-rolled steel.

The brand is ingrained in every aspect from the Shashi Hotel, from brochures, to bathrobes and coasters, signage and wayfinding and even in olfactory through a custom scent hand-picked by designers and the client.
