Media Objectives was invited to design the 2015 Society of Experiential Graphic Design Conference brand, wayfinding, staging and associated materials. While working on the conference project the team also initiated an effort to design and develop a mobile guide for the conference (segd15.com). Dubbed “Experience Chicago”, the conference kicked off on June 4th and brought 500+ design professionals, students, and industry representatives to the city.
The visual character of the materials embody the fun, energetic, and lively nature of Chicago while maintaining the SEGD brand-identity.
Inspired by the architectural icons of the city, custom unique patterns were developed and integrated into all of the materials. To bridge 2D and 3D design the team took the patterns used on the printed stage backdrop and extruded them into space.
Special thanks goes out to our fabrication partners Dazian and Dr. Graphx, the full M-O team (including Sarah Chung and Alexa Wojciechowicz), and SEGD for providing the team the opportunity to express our love for Chicago.
